Multidisciplinary Engineering Services
Engineering Support for Complex Facilities and Infrastructure
Strata-G provides multidisciplinary engineering services for complex Department of Energy (DOE) facilities, infrastructure, and environmental cleanup projects. Our engineers work across disciplines to develop practical solutions that improve safety, reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance.
Our team includes mechanical, civil, structural, chemical, electrical, nuclear, quality, fire protection, and instrumentation and control (I&C) engineers. By coordinating expertise across these disciplines, Strata-G can support projects from early planning and design through construction, facility operations, modernization, and decommissioning.
Our engineers design and evaluate facility systems, improve process performance, develop resilient infrastructure, and support reliable power and control systems. We also provide engineering expertise for nuclear facility design, safety analysis, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and environmental cleanup.
Our engineering services include:
- Mechanical engineering
- Civil engineering
- Structural engineering
- Chemical and process engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Instrumentation and control (I&C) engineering
- Nuclear engineering
- Fire protection engineering
- Quality engineering
- Facility and infrastructure evaluations
- Design development and technical reviews
- Engineering support for construction and facility operations
Project Highlights
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL)
Strata-G provided a team of senior subject matter experts (SMEs) with diverse technical backgrounds to complete extensive process knowledge reviews and walkdowns of each of the excess facilities at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and to deliver accurate and complete estimates under an expedited schedule (i.e., within eight weeks). The Legacy Facility Program identified 10 excess facilities at LLNL that were candidates for demolition based on risks concerning the degradation of the facilities, potential exposure to hazardous materials, and/or the need for removal to make way for new program facilities.
Structural Engineering Support at Y-12
Strata-G provides critical engineering support to United Cleanup Oak Ridge (UCOR) through leadership roles on major deactivation and decommissioning (D&D) projects at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Our team serves as Lead Project Engineers for Y-12 facilities, acting as single points of contact for engineering and project support while also mentoring new engineers. Strata-G engineers have contributed to key projects, including the Alpha-4 D&D Project, the East COLEX Clean-up Project (through deactivation in 2022, pending Mercury Treatment Facility operations), and the Biology Complex D&D Project that was completed in 2021. These efforts demonstrate Strata-G’s expertise in managing complex engineering challenges, advancing environmental cleanup, and ensuring safe, effective project execution.
