Strata-G was well-represented at the Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon, Half Marathon, 5K & Relay. Our team, flashy in our new wellness shirts, participated in several of the races to promote good health and wellness. This race is one of many wellness activities that our employees can participate in throughout the year. Kate Honebrink manages our program that includes a variety of challenges such as hydration, healthy weight, eating more fruits and vegetables, and walking. Employees have the chance to win wellness prizes during each challenge. The Strata-G Wellness Program makes getting and staying healthy fun.

TN officials have approved the demolition of two large buildings
at the Biology Complex at Y-12. The Biology Complex once housed more people
with doctorates than anywhere in the world, according to DOE. The men and women
who worked there radically enhanced the world’s knowledge of biology through
their research on the genetic effects of radiation. For example, scientists
there discovered that in mammals, unlike in other organisms that had been the
subject of extensive genetic studies, the Y chromosome was the determiner of
male sex.
