The DOE Office of Environmental Management (OREM) recently highlighted UCOR for achieving a major milestone in the Alpha-2 building demolition at the Y-12 National Security Complex—the largest demolition project yet at the site. Strata-G is grateful to have key team members supporting UCOR’s efforts, ensuring the project moves forward safely and efficiently.
Led by Strata-G Project Manager Aaron Wright, Strata-G team members Bobby Alred (safety), Tim Carty (engineering), and Scott Ward (engineering) have been instrumental in readying the site for demolition. Their expertise has contributed to the safe removal of 34,000 square feet of the high-risk facility, following a yearlong utilities reroute to protect active operations.
As the next phase begins, crews will deploy specialized high-reach equipment to continue the teardown, with full demolition scheduled for completion in 2027. We are honored to support UCOR and DOE OREM in this critical cleanup effort.
