Dan Hurst

Founder

Dan Hurst is the founder, former President, CEO, and Board Advisor of Strata-G. His values-based leadership helped guide the company’s growth into a multidisciplinary technical firm serving federal, commercial, and utility clients.

A veteran officer of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power Program, Dan trained hundreds of future nuclear plant operators. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Dan has served on the University of Tennessee’s Civil and Environmental Engineering Board of Advisors and as a UT Knoxville Chancellor’s Associate. His professional recognition includes the Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council Leadership Award, Tennessee Veterans Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and the East Tennessee Economic Council Muddy Boot Award. He has also been recognized by BusinessWeek for values-based leadership.

His board service has included the West Knox Utility District, Tennessee Advanced Energy Business Council (TAEBC), Fairview Technology Center, and East Tennessee Historical Society. Dan currently serves on the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Alumni Board, chairs the Board of Knox Area Rescue Ministries, and serves as a trustee on the King University Board.
