Monarch Waystation 17288

Strata-G is now a certified Monarch Waystation! This means we are providing migrating monarch butterflies with milkweeds, nectar plants, and shelter; and are thereby contributing to monarch conservation and to the continuation of monarch migration in North America. Thanks to Kate Honebrink for designing and planting the monarch garden. Stop by in September when, hopefully, dozens of miraculous monarchs will be flitting around our garden, storing up energy before migrating to their northern Mexican wintering forest habitat.

Staff News

In July, the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness announced that Strata-G was named, for the 3rd year in a row, a 2017 Healthier Tennessee Workplace. We won the award for our commitment to encouraging and enabling employees to live a healthy lifestyle both at work and at home. Here’s how we’re doing that:

• Encouraging and enabling physical activity in the workplace
• Offering healthy eating options at work
• Providing a tobacco-free environment and helping with tobacco cessation
• Encouraging and enabling employees to monitor our own health through regular health risk assessments, screenings or check-ups

Kate Honebrink, our Wellness Coordinator, has a goal to increase the overall health and wellness of our employees each year. The Healthier Tennessee Workplace program provides sound guidance in achieving that goal.
