Training Support to Oak Ridge National Laboratory Building 3019 U-233 Disposition Project
Strata-G training experts are assisting with the Building 3019 U-233 project, which involves more than 1,200 containers of enriched uranium-233 originally produced at the Department of Energy’s former defense nuclear materials production plants at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This uranium, which requires expensive security, safety and environmental controls, has been stored at a laboratory facility, Building 3019, which dates back to the Manhattan Project. Strata-G has developed and delivered customized training courses, such as:
- Client-Specific Train-the-Trainer Program
- Waste Management Procedures Training (sanitary, PCB, hazardous,
mixed, radioactive, etc.)
- Environmental Management System Overview (ISO 14001)
- Quality Assurance Program Training

Professional Services and Development of Training Courses
Strata-G professionals established a value-added program for a pharmaceutical returns company that characterizes, manages, and ships their hazardous waste. In addition, Strata-G personnel developed and implemented a RCRA Training Program for the client. Courses developed and delivered include:

Training Video Production
Strata-G developed training for a client who is building one of the largest sorting centers in the nation in Chicago, Illinois. To ensure the safety of the many contractors working on the site, Strata-G produced a video entitled, "Contractor Health and Safety Orientation." The content for the orientation was converted from traditional classroom training materials to video by Strata-G’s staff. The ten-minute video provides a summary of the site hazards, basic safety rules, and emergency preparedness and response actions.

Oak Ridge National Laboratory Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team
Strata-G assisted the Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team by updating and enhancing their nationally recognized training program. Strata-G personnel developed:
- Emergency Response to Compressed Gas Releases
- Bloodborne Pathogen Program
- Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Training
- Emergency Preparedness for Terrorist Threats

Conduct of Needs Analysis
Strata-G conducted a comprehensive needs analysis to determine job-specific training requirements for a manufacturing firm that designs and produces innovative brake products. The analysis was conducted through written surveys and employee interviews. The results were used to develop a training matrix, an associated schedule, and job-specific training baselines. The results of this activity strengthened the client’s compliance and training program.
