Biofuels Support Services
Siting and Permitting
Strata-G professionals can provide assistance by reviewing economic, geographic, and physical viability of potential biorefinery sites and then working to obtain the necessary environmental permits so that on-site construction can begin.
Project Description Strata-G professionals collaborated with the University of Tennessee's nationally acclaimed Marketing, Logistics, and Transportation Department to perform inbound logistics and feedstock analyses for an alternative energy and ethanol industry client to determine the most favorable East Tennessee site for a 100-million-gallon-per-year cellulosic ethanol facility. This successful collaboration resulted in a decision to build a pilot biorefinery and R&D facility for cellulosic ethanol at the Niles Ferry Industrial Park inVonore.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management
Strata-G knows that getting the raw product to your facility and your finished product to the customer is key to a successful biofuels operation. We have proven expertise in moving both raw and finished products to and from customers and suppliers efficiently and economically.
Project Description Strata-G professionals performed analyses of the feedstock, primary biofuel product, and biofuel co-product inbound and outbound logistics for an 83-county area in the Delta Region. Analytical results effectively documented evaluations of the farm-to-factory supply chain for current commodity crops, dedicated new crops, and niche crops; assessments of supply chain strengths and weaknesses using county-specific data regarding feedstock and transportation infrastructure; and a Strata-G model for transportation scenarios, including a cost/distance analysis by material and end-product value potential.
