Strata-G, LLC, a local veteran-owned small business specializing in waste management, transportation, and logistics services, recently announced the formation of a new board of advisers.
Charter board members Jack Britt, former executive vice president of the University of Tennessee; Steven DeCicco, chief operating office of EmeraChem LLC; and David Duncan, founder and president of The ConneXionsGroup Inc., bring a combined 80 years of experience in project management, consulting, administration and economic development to Strata-G.
"We are truly blessed to have each of these extraordinary people as advisers. They will bring invaluable insight and advice to Strata-G," said Dan Hurst, president and founder of Strata-G, in a news release. "I have known each of these men for years and admire them not only for their knowledge, but also for their exemplary character. I'm looking forward to benefiting from the wisdom of these proven leaders."
The board will serve Strata-G by offering advice, providing an objective point of view and giving guidance as the company grows and expands its vision.
Britt recently retired as executive vice president of the University of Tennessee. He has also held tenured faculty positions at North Carolina State University and Michigan State University, teaching and conducting research for more than 40 years. Britt has published hundreds of scientific and technical articles, given seminars all over the world and served on boards in the region, including the UT-Battelle board of governors, the UT-Battelle Development Corp. board of directors, the American Society of Animal Science Foundation and the Scientific Advisory Board of Embrex Inc. Britt holds a degree from Western Kentucky University and retrieved his master's degree and doctorate from North Carolina State University.
Decicco has spent the last 20 years commercializing technologies, building start-up companies, managing projects and directing engineering departments within several industries. He now serves as the chief operating officer of EmeraChem. In this role he is involved in all aspects of the company's operations and technology development. He holds a master's degree in chemical engineering from MIT and has produced more than 40 publications.
Duncan is an organization development consultant and a certified business coach. His resume includes 30 years of managing organizations, overseeing project implementation and facilitating business plan development. He has assisted with the start-up and operation of several successful small businesses, including PrSM Corp., where he served as chief operating officer for over a decade. Duncan is currently serving as founder and president of The ConneXionsGroup Inc. and is finishing his doctoral degree in educational psychology at UT.
Founded in 2002 as a veteran-owned small business, Strata-G's team of technical professionals performs critical operations for various clients including the Department of Energy, commercial nuclear facilities and private industry. The company's technical expertise includes waste management, transportation technical services, logistics and supply chain management, regulatory compliance, nuclear operations and quality assurance, and information technology.
