By Jamie Mauk-Olson
Editor, ADFAC

Darrell is the Executive Vice-President of Strata-G, LLC, an engineering consulting firm based in Knoxville. He has an MS in engineering from UT and an undergraduate civil engineering degree from Tennessee Tech. He's a registered Professional Engineer and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager.

Darrell and his wife Judy live in Coalfield. They attend Middle Creek Baptist Church where Judy serves as the assistant pianist. Their eldest daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Eric, live in Alabama, where Carrie is a social worker and Eric works at The Church at Brook Hills. Daughter Rachel is a first year law student at UT-Knoxville; Holly, the youngest, is pursuing a Nursing Degree at Tennessee Tech.

A life-long resident of Morgan County, Darrell has coached community baseball and football teams, chaperoned youth outings, and tutored in after-school math and science programs. He's seen first hand the needs that many Appalachian families face, but he's also seen how a compassionate helping hand like ADFAC can allow individuals to realize their potential.

Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties (ADFAC) is an independent non-profit agency concerned with the social welfare, including educational, health, housing, and handicapped needs of residents of Anderson County. ADFAC has made a commitment to distribute limited emergency aid funds in the most responsible, effective, and caring way possible and to assist low, and very low, income homeowners in repairing their homes or building new houses.
