Past Project Highlights

Strata-G associates are providing technical support to the Oak Ridge Energy Corridor (OREC) to implement the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Energy Parks Initiative.  The OREC works with regional utilities, municipalities, and private companies to invest in deployment scale energy technologies in East Tennessee.  In this role Strata-G associates supported the City of Oak Ridge with its proposal to the Department of Transportation (DOT) for a TIGER II grant that will optimize long-term transportation initiatives by twelve regional entities including Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Knoxville Metropolitan Airport Authority, and Oak Ridge Associated Universities.

In a project for the Y-12 Nuclear Security Complex, Strata-G developed and delivered training and presentation materials on DOE’s High Performance Sustainable Building (HPSB) design principles and LEED for New Construction prerequisites and credit criteria.

At Maryville College in Tennessee, Strata-G is assisting in LEED certification for a historic home that was converted to an office. Activities performed to date include registering the project with the US Green Buildings Council (USGBC), developing sustainable operating policies, installing energy efficient storm windows, and investigating new heat and air conditioning systems.  The project is expected to achieve LEED certification in 2012.
