Dan Hurst
President, Founder
Dan Hurst is the President and Founder of Strata-G. Dan is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and received commendations as a Division Officer and Instructor in the Naval Nuclear Power Program. He has a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee, where he served as Industry Advisor to the Alumni Council and is the 2007 recipient of the Biosystems Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award.
With more than twenty years of nuclear and environmental experience, Dan has provided technical consulting in the areas of low level and mixed waste characterization and managed senior technical personnel, who developed environmental management systems and performed pollution prevention activities and waste generator services for numerous Department of Energy and commercial clients. Dan initiated Strata-G's active community outreach program, which won the 2007 Innovation Valley Navigator Award by providing financial support and recurring opportunities throughout the year for Strata-G employees to serve their communities.
Dan is President of the Board of the West Knox Utilities District; and also serves as a member of the board of directors of the Knox Area Rescue Ministries and the Fairview Technology Center.
